And it happened on the night of March 18th. Youths from both Calvary as well as New Life Baptist were welcomed to the grand hall by David G Lim.
Behind him stood the man...Russ Lee!
The concert was kicked off with one of Russ's own songs- and I must say...he's a VERY good vocalist...
Of course, as in every concert, participation of tyhe audience is important! Some of the songs required us to sing along with him (eg. 'Miracles')
But the songs weren't the main objectives of the concert...no....it was the great and moving testimony that the singer shared with us. There were jokes everynow and then, but his emphasis on how he came and accepted god was the strongest point of the concert. From a rebellious teenager who partied and sold drugs, to a man who is totally transformed.
'I'm a miracle', Russ Lee says with a smile.
Before closing, he requested all youths to be honest with themselves...he agreed to pray for us (especially the few who raised their hands to answer his questions) and for those who didn't know christ to accept him.
The concert ended of with a song -a relatively good one from his album as well as a lucky draw. I'm pleased to say that one of the two winners was from our church. :D
What's a concert without CD's for sale and autographs from the man himself? lol.... Youths queued up and took pictures with Russ...in fact, the interview with him kept being pushed back cause of the phototaking...LOL...hope you guys frame up the photo :)
And......... the interview revealed to us more about Russ himself...his favourite singer...the food he tried in Singapore and was going to later that night...
'I like those fried baby squid...' He smiled.
Unexpectedly, we were video recorded and WOW...the interview's going to be used for Russ's next Tour promo video! :D
Those who missed out on that day, you really dunno what you're missing... A great way to end the March holidays (for most of us...I think)...
Of course, If I left anything out, do let me know. :) Give your opinions at the TagBoard or the comments section by clicking the 'comments' link.
Now...We'll just wait for the pictures of the event as well as your Youth Movie Results.
Cheers J
